Learn to sail on the beautiful San Francisco Bay

Enjoy easy sailing lessons on the 30-foot Sabre Excaliber (or on your boat), which sails out of the North Bay. The skipper holds a US Coast Guard Masters 100 GT, and Near Coastal to 100 nm license with sailing and towing endorsements, and can take up to six people at a time. Most classes have four students.

The following lessons are available. Classes are individually tailored to meet your specific needs after we get through the basics and are typically two to four days. Workshops are typically a four- to six-hour, half day (or long evening).

Winter rates start November 1 and end March 31. Summer rates start April 1 and end October 31. You must book and pay prior to April 1 to get the winter rate.

Note: Not all classes or workshops offer winter rates.

Deposit requirements

Please note that a deposit is required to hold your reservation. Contact me for more information.

Canceling or not showing up
If you need to cancel, please let me know at least two weeks in advance. (I'd prefer even more notice, if possible.) Anything less will mean that you'll probably lose your deposit.

Emergencies come up. Let me know if that happens. If I cancel (for whatever reason), I will refund your deposit. Light rain doesn't necessarily mean the lesson or cruise is cancelled, so please show up or call me and let me decide.

I may have to postpone the class or charter due to special circumstances.
